- Incoterms: FOB (factory gate to port) is standard. CIF (including freight and insurance) and DDP (delivered to your site) are available for buyers who prefer turnkey logistics.
- Transit time: 4-6 weeks by sea to most global destinations. Air freight available for urgent orders at 5-10x the cost.
Common Pitfalls to Avoid
- Buying from traders: Many Alibaba listings are trading companies, not manufacturers. Always verify the factory directly.
- Accepting unverified certificates: Some suppliers provide fake or expired type test reports. Contact the testing laboratory to verify.
- Ignoring market-specific requirements: IEC standards are the baseline, but some markets (EU, UK, North America, Australia) have additional requirements for documentation language, labeling, and compliance marks.
